OUR ASPIRATION

“Mountain Modern” is a term thrown around a lot in high-end communities in the Mountain West. But what does it actually encompass?

At North Sierra Homes, mountain-modern construction involves a comprehensive approach to building that culminates in a home that is functional, sustainable, economically sensible, right sized, and (oh yeah!) beautiful.

While aesthetics are high on our list, curb appeal is of little use if your home is poorly designed and you don’t enjoy using it. One critique of the high-end contemporary homes currently being built is that style is advanced in front of functionality.

Say what you will about old-timey mountain cabins, but they work. People like them and enjoy them.

Our aspiration is to create a regional vernacular of mountain-modern construction that feels just as “homey” as those venerable cabins, while being much more functional and sustainable.
